ABORTION : PRO AND CONTRA

To begin with, let me say that abortion can be defined as pregnancy termination accidentally as in miscarriage or by choice. Abortions is caused by rape, incest and possible health concerns to mother /baby. Social and personal issues are the causes of rest of abortions. Around 60% of abortions are performed on never married women. As you see, there has been great deal of discussion on the problem of abortion. The discussion includes: Have abortion become a modern lifestyle and a resultant of casual sex? Is abortion legal or illegal? Is abortion morally justified or not? Hereby we would be weighing the pros and cons of abortion (voluntary); and discussing whether the availability of abortion in an important right for women to have.
The important con that sould be considered is can we choose to kill unwanted pregnancies? Since life begin at conception, abortion is a kind to murder as it is the act of taking human life. No civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, and abortion is no different. Pro-abortion people insist that the fetus is nothing but a worthless blob of tissue. They refuse to face the fact that there’s a miniature person in that womb.

On the other hand, some people said that Nearly all abortion take place in the first trimester, when a fetus cannot axist independent of the mother. As it is attached by the placenta and umbilical cord, it’s health is independent on her health and cannot be ragarded as a separated entity as it cannot exist outside her womb. The conception of personhood is different from the concept of human life. Human life occurs at conception, but fertilized eggs used to in vitro fertilization are also human lives and those not implanted are routinely thrown away. Is it the murder? and if not, then how is abortion murder?

As we all know, some abortion causes by rape, incest or freesex. In the instance of rape and incest abortion should not be permitted because it is wrong to punish a child for the sin of the father. abortion punishes the unborn child who comitted no crime, it is perpetrator who should be punished. And in the case of freesex, She had her fun, now let her pay for it. If you have sex, you should expect to get pregnant and pay the consequences.
Adoption is available alternative to abortion and accomplished the same result, abortion is never the best solution. And with 1.5 million familly waiting for adopting a child, there’s no such a thing as unwanted child. There’s a lack of adoptable babies because of abortion being legal. Willing parents are waiting for babies.

The pro argues that in the case of rape or incest forcing a woman made pregnant by this violent act would cause further psycologycal harm to the victim. Often a woman is too afraid to speak up or is unware she is pregnant, thus the morning after pill is ineffective in these situation. In the case of freesex, this vindictive, self-righteous attitude stems from a belief that sex is a bad and must be punished. Motherhood should never be punishment for having sex. Forcing a child to be born to punish its mother is the ultimate in child abuse.
Adoption is not alternative to abortion, because it remains the woman’s choice whether or not to give child up for adoption. Statistics show that very few women who give birth choose to give up their babies – less than 3% of white unmarried women and less than of black unmarried women.
Some country use Abortion as one of birth control method. Let’s look at the fact about the population problem in a country. When a country faces the problem of population explosion, the govermen should find methods to solve it. But since no method of contraception is one hundred percent effective and successful, abortion becomes the only way out when prevention fails.

Despite at the fact above, Some people said that Abortion should not be used as another form of contraception. For women who demand complete control their body, control should include preventing the risk of unwanted pregnancy through the responsible use of contraception or, if that’s not impossible, through abstinence.
Those who choose abortion are often minors of young women with insufficient life experience to understand fully what they are doing. Many have lifelong regret. Abortion frequently causes intense psychologycal impairment to the woman in the form of depression and guilt. More women die from ilegal abortion. Abortion is not safe as natural pregnancy, and abortion greatly increased the incidence of miscarriage in future pregnancies. Infection, sepsis, recurrent, miscarriages and rarely death could be complications of abortion. Women risk their health and lives in bearing the weight of the operation and its consequences. The most common complications are inflammation, interruption of menstrual patterns, infertility, endometriosis, myoma of the uterus, and many other kinds of ovary illness.
However, some people think, though women have a hard time choosing abortion as an option for unwanted pregnancies, they have been making the choice for a long time. Ultimately, she is the one who would be going through the actual “labor” of continuing pregnancy, delivering the baby, bringing it up, parenting it well in addition to other obligations she has to do in her daily life. To get it done with little help or no help from the partner. Teenagers who become mothers have grim prospect for the future. They are much more likely to leave of school, receive inadequate prenatal care, rely on public assistance to raise a child; develop health problems; or end up divorced.
While we argue about the mental well being of women, how do others get to decide what would be more traumatict of the woman, abortion or; ‘childbirth and the unending list of duties waiting to be accomplished’.
Abortion is safe medical procedure, that vast majority of women - 88% - who have an abortion do so in their first trimester. Medical abortion have less than 0,5% risk of serious complications and do not affect a woman’s health or future abillity to become pregnant or give birth.

Allow me to conclude by stating that, Legalize or not, abortion will always be a part of society. So far, abortions have become dilema for countries with a large number of citizens. On one hand it can control the birthrate but on the other hand, it can bring terrible consequences, especially for women’s health. Deciding factor whether to abort or not would be different for different people. To one abortion can be traumatic. it’s impossible to decide a particular set of rules for all. It all depends on the multifaceted approach of each woman, her psycological strength, supportive circumstances that will not only help her decide but also being convinced about her decisions.
